Nasarawa United head coach Mbwas Mangut is concerned that his team have not started the EUROMATCH-NPFL season on a good note following third defeat in five matches.
The Solid Miners suffered a third loss of the campaign on Wednesday when they were defeated 2-1 by Kwara United.
Despite Jofrank Istifanus’ best attempt to level the score at 1-1 by cancelling out Sanni Muhammed’s goal, Nasarawa United conceded a second goal in the second half off Abdulsalam Abdulsalam to surrender the full points to Kwara United.
Mangut reviewed his team’s performance and quickly admitted that the currently league table is “something to get worried of.”
Nasarawa United currently occupy 16th place having won just once in five matches (W1 D1 L3).
Mangut knows that taking just four points out of their opening five matches is not good enough and hopes to build on some of the “positives” from the loss at Kwara United in upcoming matches since it is still early days in the campaign.
”If you look at the Log, it’s really something to get worried of. Five games, amounting to 15 points, and we have four points from those.
”However, we have some positives and some negatives to drive from the game. Both sides yearned for the result, we had a great game in the first half conceded an early goal, but we recovered almost immediately.
”We will move on from this phase and stabilize the team, going forward. Losing point in every effort put isn’t the best. But, we will work towards it,” Mangut said at the post-match conference in Ilorin.
Nasarawa United will play at home in their next fixture against Niger Tornadoes on Sunday.
