There is a major change in the offing after Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) side Kun Khalifat FC owner seeks for buyers to take their place in the top division.
The decision by the Owerri-based club now leaves the door open for a new investor to take over Kun Khalifat FC as a major shareholder.
”On behalf of the shareholders of Kun Khalifat of Owerri, I hereby confirm that we are in the process of handing over the majority shares of the company to a prospective buyer.
”You will be duly informed when the process is concluded. Meanwhile we appeal to you to commence the process of transfer of ownership to the prospective buyer,” Kun Khalifat FC president, Amaefula Michael, wrote to the NPFL.
However, if Kun Khalifat FC’s sale to a new owner is not completed before the start of the season, may not allow a change of club name.
