Kwara United head coach Ashifat Suleiman has lifted the lid on his club’s recruitment plans in the off-season transfer window ahead of the 2026/27 Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) season.
Ashifat revealed on Monday after the club resumed preparation for the coming season that the club intend to bring in 10 new players to bolster their playing personnel.
Twenty players from the last campaign have also been retained.
”We have identified players that will add value to the club, and some invited players will join us as training progresses. Supporters will have the opportunity to see them during our training sessions,” he told the club’s media after their training session at the KFA pitch in Ilorin.
Ashifat further disclosed that the retained players and new signings will be introduced to the club faithful in due course.
He also took time to plead with the club’s supporters to back the team for the new season.
”I want to implore our supporters, fans and stakeholders to be patient with the technical crew in revealing retained and outgoing players. Revealing those leaving may affect their chances of pursuing opportunities elsewhere, while the retained players will be unveiled at the appropriate time,” he said.
Kwara United survived relegation last season by finishing in 16th place.
The club will continue their pre-season programme on Tuesday at the KFA pitch.
