Shooting Sports Club (3SC) on Sunday, lost 0-2 to Southwest rivals Remo Stars in a Matchday 14 encounter of the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) on Wednesday.
A goal in each half was all the Sky Blue Stars needed to win the Southwest Derby played at the Remo Stars Stadium in Ikenne.
Both sides battled grit for grit for most parts of the first half but the Oluyole Warriors were reduced to 10 men after right-back Muritala Taiye got the marching order after collecting a second yellow card.
The home side got the opener in the final minute of the half after a penalty kick was awarded by referee Olaniyi Oladapo, which Sikiru Alimi stepped up to convert to give his side a 1-0 lead into the break .
Despite playing with one man less, the Oluyole Warriors enjoyed most of the possession in the second half and could have levelled the score but for poor finishing.
Remo Stars will go ahead to seal the game against the run of play in the 67th minute when Olamilekan Adedayo struck from close range after the 3SC defence failed to deal with a cross from the left channel.
The Oluyole Warriors will on Sunday welcome Abia Warriors for a Matchday 15 encounter, slated to kick off at 5.30pm while Remo Stars will make the trip to Minna to face Niger Tornadoes.
