Abia Warriors head coach, Imama Amapakabo has expressed disappointment over the team’s performance, following their 1-0 defeat to visiting Niger Tornadoes, on Sunday, in a EuroMatch Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) Matchday 10 encounter, at the Enyimba International Stadium, Aba.
Wasiu Jimoh’s 56th minute thunderbolt strike was the difference as Tornadoes secures their first away win of the season.
While speaking shortly after the encounter, Amapakabo revealed his frustration following the defeat but expressed that his side were the second best throughout the game.
”I’m disappointed with the way we played which also explained why we deserved to lose the game,” Amapakabo said.
”I think Tornadoes showed character and resilience to come here and produce such a great performance and it is a big lesson for us. It is our first home defeat at home this season, but the way we played wasn’t good enough,” he concluded.
Abia Warriors will be on the road next weekend, when they travel to Ibadan for a Matchday 11 encounter with Shooting Stars on Sunday, November 1, 2026, at the Lekan Salami Stadium in Ibadan.
