Nine-time EUROMATCH-NPFL winners, Enyimba, finally got off the mark with a win on the board and it was emphatic as they defeated Shooting Stars Sports Club (3SC) 4-2 in one of Wednesday’s rearranged fixtures.

‎

‎The People’s Elephant pressed from the front at the outset and their efforts paid off as Richard Ezinna put them in front just seven minutes into the match following a high press on Kalu Nweke.

‎

‎Enyimba did not let up and kept pressing and got two quick goals. First, Damian Chibueze Ezeifule scored an outrageous goal from way out in the 29th minute before Idris Abubakar got the third nine minutes before the break.

‎

‎The former CAF Champions League winners were not done as they raced into a four-goal lead just four minutes into the second half through Ifeanyi Ihemekwele who finished Wonah William’s pass expertly.

‎

‎Shooting Stars head coach/technical adviser Salisu Yusuf switched his playing personnel and two of the substitutes, Mustapha Adams Agba’a and Johnmark Aule scored in the 76th minute and in stoppage time respectively to leave the scoreline a little respectable.

‎

‎However it was a return to Aba that Yusuf, who worked as coach at Enyimba, would want to forget.

‎

‎EUROMATCH-NPFL champions Rangers International climbed to the top of the standings following a 1-0 win at the Southern Delta University Stadium in Ozoro against Warri Wolves.

‎

‎Godwin Obaje’s goal from the spot in the first half was enough for the titleholders to seal the win at Wolves.

‎

‎Rivers United kept their place in second place after a 1-1 draw at Katsina United.

‎

‎After a goalless first half, the opening five minutes of the second half produced two goals. Samson Olasupo put Rivers United ahead on 47 minutes before Sani Mubarak levelled the score three minutes later.

‎

‎The Lagos derby between Sporting Lagos and Ikorodu City ended scoreless.

‎

‎The EUROMATCH-NPFL continues this weekend with Matchday 7 fixtures.
