Kano Pillars, Nasarawa United and Plateau United all claimed their first full points of the season after seeing off Niger Tornadoes, Bendel Insurance and Kwara United respectively in Sunday’s schedule of the EUROMATCH Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL).

‎Former champions Kano Pillars races into a three-goal lead through new-signings Ubong Friday (40′) and Fabian Nworie (45+3′, 54′) and it looked all wrapped up for Daniel Ogunmodede’s men against Tornadoes.

‎However in the final 20 minutes, Niger Tornadoes attempted a comeback by scoring twice through substitutes Godfrey Joseph and Wasiu Jimoh to make the final moments edgy for Sai Masu Gida.

‎Surely Ogunmodede will now be concerned with his defence as they have shipped in four goals in two matches with three of them in the final 20 minutes.

‎Sam Pam netted the winner for Nasarawa United in a tight contest at the Lafia City Stadium against Bendel Insurance. He scored in the 55th minute.

‎At the New Jos Stadium, Plateau United got their season off the mark after losing on the opening at Rivers United.

‎Gbenga Ogunbote’s side edged past Kwara United by a goal scored Alex Aghahowa.

‎The match between Kun Khalifat FC and Barau FC at the Dan Anyiam Stadium in Owerri ended goalless while Ranchers Bees will play hosts to Abia Warriors at the Muhammadu Dikko Stadium in Katsina on Monday.

‎The Lagos derby between Sporting Lagos and Ikorodu City earlier scheduled for Sunday has been rearranged for September 30 due to unavailability of the venue which was used by the APC for a political event.
