Nasarawa United did just enough to see off Wikki Tourists in their Sunday’s fixture in the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) with Garba Mohammed netting what turned out the winning goal at the Lafia City Stadium.

The Solid Miners continued with their impressive start to the campaign that has propelled them into fifth place following back-to-back home wins.

Youngster, Garba, scored the solitary goal for the Lafia club in the 37th minute of the intense tie and his goal proved sufficient for Mbwas Mangut’s men to claim the full points.

The win comes on the back of a brilliant goalless draw at record NPFL champions Enyimba in a game the odds were stacked against them.

Mangut’s side have now taken seven points from a possible 12 after an earlier win over Abia Warriors despite an opening day defeat at Niger Tornadoes.

The Solid Miners will now carry their rich vein of form into the next matchday when they face Bayelsa United on the road while Wikki Tourists head to the northwest to play against Katsina United.
