Kwara United creative midfielder, Akanni Akeem, has expressed the team’s strong determination and readiness ahead of their highly anticipated semifinal clash against Rangers in the President Federation Cup, scheduled for this Wednesday in Lagos.
Speaking to the club’s media team after Friday’s training session at the Rashidi Yekini Main Bowl in Ilorin, Akanni said the atmosphere in camp is filled with high spirits and unwavering focus.
“With the level of preparation and the unity among the players, I can confidently say we are battle-ready for this crucial game,” he said.
The midfielder assured fans of an all-round performance, not just from himself but from the entire squad.
“Our fans should expect 100% commitment from me and the whole team. It’s not about one player—it’s a collective effort. We want to make history by winning this match and going on to lift the cup for the first time. This is our moment to give back to the football-loving people of Kwara,” Akanni said.
Akanni also called on stakeholders, supporters, and fans to intensify their support as the team push to achieve glory.
“We urge all fans and supporters to redouble their efforts at this stage. Your support means everything, and together, we can make history.”
Kwara United will be looking to book their spot in the final and potentially secure their first-ever President Federation Cup title. The other semifinal will be between NPFL side Ikorodu City and giant-killing Abakaliki FC in Enugu.
