Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) newcomers, Barau FC, have appointed Alhaji Kabiru Baita and former Nigerian international, Dominic Iorfa, as vice president and general manager respectively.
The club announced the appointments on Tuesday night via their official social media platforms and explained that the duo has been brought into their management team based on their “wealth of expertise” and “experience” in Nigerian football.
“The President of Barau FC, Shawall Barau Jibrin, is pleased to announce the appointments of Dominic Iorfa and Alhaji Kabiru Baita.
“Dominic brings a wealth of expertise from the Nigerian football industry, with a proven track record in strategic leadership, talent development, and elite performance. We are confident that his vision will elevate our club both on and off the pitch.
“Alhaji Kabiru Baita joins Barau FC as Vice President.He brings vast experience, integrity, and a strong network within Nigerian football.
“His leadership will be instrumental as we chart a bold and sustainable path to success.
“These appointments reflect our commitment to excellence, growth, and delivering top-tier football for our supporters. We believe Dominic and Alhaji Baita will help Barau FC reach new heights and make our fans proud.
“We warmly welcome both of them and look forward to an exciting season ahead,” the club concluded in their statement.
Iorfa previously served in management role as vice chairman of Lobi Stars until last year while Baita worked on the board of Kano Pillars and also as special adviser on sports to the Kano governor at some point.
