Niger Tornadoes head coach, Majin Mohammed, has expressed confidence in his team’s ability to overcome Plateau United in their upcoming North Central Derby in the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) on Sunday.

The Ikon Allah Boys are back at the Ahmadu Bello Stadium in Kaduna for live home matches.

Speaking to Niger Tornadoes Media, Majin acknowledged the challenges posed by the encounter but emphasized his team’s readiness to face the test.

“We’re aware of the difficulties, but we’re prepared. We know Plateau United will come with the mentality of getting a result, especially after we picked three points in Jos during the first round. However, we’re ready for them,” he stated.

Majin also emphasized the importance of having the right players with the right mentality, saying: “Anywhere we go to play our matches, we believe we’ll get our results. We’re not afraid to play anywhere, and we feel at home wherever we are.”

The Niger Tornadoes coach cautioned his players to be wary of the visiting team, saying, “Plateau United may be struggling on the log, but that doesn’t mean they’re not a good team. In fact, teams at the bottom can be harder to play, so we’ll approach the game with the same intensity as if we were playing the champions.”

Majin also assured saying that they will give everything to come out tops in the match.

“We’ll miss our home support psychologically, but we’ve shown we can pick points away from home despite intimidating crowds. I believe the Kaduna fans will give us maximum support as always,” Majin said.

With the Ikon Allah Boys seeking stability and Plateau United desperate to escape the relegation zone, Sunday’s match promises to be an exciting and crucial encounter.
