The provisional approval granted Kano Pillars to play home matches at the Sani Abacha Stadium may be revoked by the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL).

In a letter to the club, the NPFL Chief Operating Officer, Davidson Owumi directed the club to ensure that the stadium flood lighting becomes functional as stated in the letter of provisional approval of November 2024.

Pillars were at the time granted approval with a proviso that the flood lighting, a requirement for club licensing infrastructure criteria, was fixed within three weeks from the date of the approval.

The NPFL warned that should the flood lighting not be functional for the team’s next home fixture on Matchday 22, Kano Pillars would play home games at any approved venue.
