Abia Warriors contingent have already settled down in Lafia ahead of their Matchday 7 fixture in the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) and their captain, Augustine Njoku, believes they can claim the full points.
‘Umu Chineke,’ as Abia Warriors are now called, go into Wednesday’s match at the Lafia City Stadium after seeing off Kwara United 1-0 on Sunday, and Njoku is confident they can build on that performance when they face Nasarawa United.
“The spirit in the camp is high. I believe we didn’t come here for a jamboree or play, we are here for the maximum points,” Njoku stated.
The Warriors skipper further stated: “…I believe with everything that we have been taught within the week and everything our coaches have been able to put together to teach us concerning the game of football, I believe if we can put them to work come Wednesday, I believe we are going to come out from that field with the maximum points.”
The optimism of the former Nigeria Under-20 defender stems from the hard fought victory over Kwara United on Matchday 6 at the Umuahia Township Stadium.
“Victory they say begets victory, (and) with the victory last Sunday at home, I believe we are going to put everything together to keep the spirit high and go all out for the maximum points come this Wednesday,” Njoku said.
